What is a Youth Hostel (YH)l?
Hi, Youth Hostels started in Germany to help young people travel for over a 100 years. In total, there are about 80 participａｔｉｎｇ countries and 4000 accomodations worldwide. In Japan, from up north Hokkaido to southernmost Okinawa, there are 220 Youth hostels.
Despite Youth Hostel naming itself "Youth" there is no age limit for staying.. For individual stays, such as Solo trips, and family trips. Also a large number of people for training and seminor trips are acceptable. You can find cosy to large scale hostels anywhere.
Youth hostel in Japan is governed by the Japan Youth Hostel Association, but in the world there is an organization called the International Youth Hostel Federation (like the United Nations), and the national association around the world is a member. The International Youth Hostel Federation, is working on the management of the homepage, on which information you search and reservations can be made for all youth hostels of member countries, and the quality improvement of these youth hostels. The head office is in London, England.

Inuyama International Youth Hostel (Aich prefecture)

Tateshina Shirakaba-kogen Youth Hostel
http://www.jyh.gr.jp/tateshina/This facility has a site of 2000 tsubo (6600㎡) of the Tateshina National Park. There is a dedicated campground surrounded by white birch or larch forest, and there are 29 side tennis courts, putter golf, archery, large lawn open space, and a music hall in the adjoining. We also have a ski school, which is 10 minutes by foot.
Tokyo Ueno Youth Hostel (Tokyo City)

All private rooms contain a bathroom: a bath / toilet (in principle more than 3 people · no private room dormitory), so please use it for friends and family staying in Tokyo etc. In the outskirts, Ueno Park, Akihabara Electric Town and Ameyoko shopping district famous as cherry blossom viewing are located 3 - 5 minutes on foot, zoo and museum nearby. University of Tokyo (Hongo Campus) etc are also reachable by foot. Perfect for use when travelling and job hunting.
Kinne Kibo-gaoka Youth Hostel (Shiga prefecture)

Okinawa Internatuinal Youth Hostel (Okinawa prefecture)

We also do diving, canoeing and jet skiing as a base for sightseeing. Youth hostel is located in prefectural Okuyama exercise park, where there are many sports camps, and recently organizations in environmental learning. We have facilities and activities for environmental learning as well. It is suitable for group use.
